Weekend Beach and Creek Report

The beach was supposedly nice on Saturday morning. My brother called me as he was on the way to Isle of Palms to surf. We didn’t make it out, and it ended up we didn’t miss much in the way of waves.
We went to a birthday party for some friends on Saturday evening in Awendaw. They have a really beautiful piece of waterfront property on Awendaw creek. We had a cookout and took the boat for a ride, and had a really nice time. They actually have a cabin with really nice views of the creek that they rent out on a short term basis. It’s a beautiful place, and pet friendly. They have kayaks, a dock, fishing, etc. I’ll look for the website address and post it tomorrow. Or just call me, and I’ll give you their number. It would be a great, non-mainstream, way to enjoy a vacation in Charleston. It’s not expensive, either.
