The Home Search

I had a busy weekend showing property in Goose Creek and Hanahan. My client is looking for a property that has square footage, specific schools, a specific floorplan, and a great neighborhood. Plus a pretty low price point. I think we are both getting a little frustrated, because there isn’t a lot on the market that fits all of the criteria, and is in the price range she wants. We had a talk on Saturday about some possible tweaks we could do to our search to give us more to choose from. One of her major concerns is the school her child will be attending.
She decided to increase her search criteria to include the new Cane Bay High School, up towards Moncks Corner. I called the school, and a really nice man walked me through how to figure out which streets go to which schools. Normally, that sort of thing is listed on MLS, and all we do is call to verify. However, with a brand new school, it’s different. The Berkeley County website has a really great GIS mapping function, where you can select school attendance zones as an overlay. So, I got the info I needed, and my client is one step closer to finding a home where her daughter will attend the new Cane Bay High School.
