Midtown of Charleston Party Recap

We had a great event at Midtown last night. The developers had a grand opening party, complete with Mariachi Band, Mexican Fare, and Cerveza. They had a great turnout, and I think it did a lot to get the word out about the development. People were still there well into the evening. It was a mix of real estate agents, their clients, and downtown residents, as well as various people within the community with professions related to the real estate and homebuilding industries. It was a lot of fun.
I was assigned to the building at 210 Coming Street. I was really glad for two reasons. One is purely selfish in that the building is not completed yet, and the light fixtures have not yet been installed. Therefore, as soon as it was dark, I was off-duty. The second reason is that that is my favorite building in the development. It is definitely the best one, as far as I am concerned. Not that the others aren’t great also. I love the commercial space at 210 Coming, and at 425K, for new construction, I think it is a fabulous investment. Also, the “A” residential unit in that building has, in my opinion, the best outdoor space in the entire development. The building is right on the corner of Coming and Cannon, (new hotel going in a few blocks away, proposed landscaping of Cannon and Spring streets with live oaks, etc.), and has a third floor deck overlooking the corner, and Five Loaves diagonally across the street. The “A” unit has a really wide deck, perfect for a summer evening soiree, or a potted garden. It’s really cool, and there are some great views from up there, too. Someone needs to buy that unit, and also the commercial space below. They could rent them out or use them, and make a lot of money one day, in my opinion.
