It’s Oyster Season!

It’s Oyster Season! My husband, Jeff, owns a seafood distribution business, and they deliver fresh, local oysters right to your door. So, if you, or anyone you know is having an oyster roast, please give him a call at 843-568-6380, or visit www.localoysters.com!This is a picture of the waterway in Awendaw, on the way [...]

To Do in the Garden for September

Divide and replant perennials
Divide and replant calla lilies and daylilies
Plant chrysanthemums
Fertilize gerbera daisies and roses

Shrubs only need light pruning to improve their overall appearance.  Avoid pruning too much, because you don’t want to  encourage new growth that will not mature before the weather gets cold.

Thanksgiving Weekend in Charleston, SC

I had a great Thanksgiving holiday; I hope you did, too.
We had family time on Thursday, as we split the day between John’s Island and McClellanville.  Friday was mostly a recovery day.  Saturday, we went with friends to see The Have-Nots, which is an improv comedy show downtown.  The theatre probably seats about 100 people, [...]

Cruising Around Charleston Harbor

We went sailing on the Schooner Pride this weekend for a friend’s birthday.  It was a lot of fun.  It was a beautiful day, but a little chilly, especially on the water.  We met at the Aquarium Wharf at 4:45, and then cruised around Charleston Harbor for the sunset.
If you’ve never done a Harbor Cruise, [...]

Midtown of Charleston Update

We’ve sold another property down at Midtown, and are very close to ratifying another contract.  The one we ratified was for the model (7 Brewster).  So, today we moved our model next door to 5 Brewster Ct.  It’s a different floor plan than the previous model, and it is fun to see this one furnished.  [...]

Upper King Design Walk

We’re having some unusual weather for this time of year today.  It’s really cool and blustery and rainy.  We have a big low pressure system right off the coast, which they are calling an extra-tropical storm, with potential to become a sub-tropical storm.  Whatever that means.  Actually, I do know what it means, but it [...]

Happenings in the Charleston Real Estate Market

This week has been a frenzy of activity so far, and it’s only Tuesday!  I have seen a dramatic increase in website inquiries, and have been on several new buyer and seller appointments.  We have a meeting for the Upper King Design District tomorrow at FISH, which is a good restaurant on King Street.  It’s [...]

Fall Cometh

Another busy day in the Charleston Real Estate Market.  The upcoming Autumnal Equinox, combined with the fact that the wind has been blowing northeast for several days, is resulting in very high tides throughout the Charleston area.  And, you guessed it (maybe)…there are going to be waves this weekend.  I actually have the day off [...]
