Easy Orange Cream Pie
I really like this pie.
1 graham cracker crust, baked
1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.), softened
1 can mandarin oranges, drained really well
1.5 cup (approx) whipping cream
approx. 2/3 c sugar, or to taste
1 tsp grated orange peel
Using an electric mixer, mix the cream cheese with the sugar. Then beat the whipping cream until it becomes whipped cream. [...]
The Meridian on James Island, SC
I like The Meridian on James Island. If you are in the under 200K price range, and want to be on James Island, you should definitely check it out. It’s located off of Folly Road. As you’re heading out toward Folly Beach, you take a right at the Walmart, and the neighborhood is down on [...]
Charleston Awards in 2008
Here is a link to an article that discusses the various awards Charleston won in 2008. It goes to re-iterate what I always say: Charleston is a great place to live and to visit, and that is going to continue.
Charlestonians got named “America’s Friendliest People”, which I really think is true. When we walk down [...]

There are some very important changes taking place with mortgages soon that, as your trusted mortgage adviser, I wanted to be sure you knew about. This update may take you more than two minutes to read, but it’s NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Home Buyers Coming Out of the Woodwork
I really am amazed at how busy this year has started off. And the more amazing thing is that the vast majority is buyers. I think the low interest rates and all the refinancing going on must be helping out some. I wonder if this is a “micro-bubble”, or if it truly is the market [...]
More Home Buyers in Early ‘09
It has been a whirlwind of a week. I’ve been doing buyer package after buyer package. I put a very detailed package together for buyers, and I think it is extremely helpful, especially for first time buyers and people who are relocating to the area. These have been predominantly for out of town buyers, who [...]
Monday Mortgage Update 1-19-09
Interest rates are again at historic lows, but this time the housing market is different. Refinancing activity is up dramatically as rates have dipped below 5% at times, but unfortunately, these attractive rates have not drawn in more home buyers. Yet, this refinancing boom will likely have a favorable impact on your business in the [...]
Continuing Education for Charleston Realtors, The Green Way
I have to renew my South Carolina Real Estate license this year. It requires that you take a certain number of continuing education classes every 2 years. We actually have more in Charleston because our Association of Realtors recently added 6 more hours that we have to take. That brings it to a total of [...]
Midtown Sales and Home Staging
As I mentioned in my last post, this has been a really busy week. People are refinancing like crazy, and showings have increased a lot in the past few days. We are closing on a property at Midtown on Friday, which will be nice. The one that sold is the one we had furnished by [...]
Charleston Real Estate Market Starts 2009 Strong
Well, today was the first real business day of the new year, and it has been surprisingly busy. Charleston real estate seems to be a hot topic on the minds of many, as my phone rang off the hook all day long. People seem particularly interested in the Park Circle area, Old Mt. Pleasant, and [...]
